In Germany, the legal requirements regarding water protection are governed by the German Water Resources Act (WHG) and the Ordinance for Systems Handling Water-endangering Substances (AwSV). Based on the expansion of water conservation areas and tighter regulations regarding permissible storage quantities of water-endangering substances, plant engineering requirements are consequently increasing as well. In order to complement its automation portfolio, EQOS Energie’s expertise has now broadened to include these requirements. During an audit, the company recently acquired the certification that will enable it to perform planning, construction, overhaul and decommissioning of process measuring and control technology on so-called LAU and HBV systems. LAU systems (the German acronym stands for storing, filling, transferring) include tank farms, chemical ramps and ship loading, among other things. HBV systems (the German acronym stands for manufacture, treatment and consumption) include systems of the chemical and petrochemical industry as well as emergency diesel for generators or fuel oil consumer installations.
Based on the certification as a specialist company pursuant to the WHG, customers of EQOS Energie obtain legal certainty as a result of the benefit from the collaboration with a partner who is optimally familiar with the water protection and technical aspects of current regulations.
