This project ensured that the single-track line was rendered fit for the future. <\/p><p><span style=\"font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif;font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight )\">For the new construction, a total of 146 catenary masts ranging in height from 10 to 16 metres and weighing up to 12 tonnes were used along the six-kilometre stretch. To carry out the work efficiently, only a few foundations were cast in concrete; the majority were driven into the ground. A rail-mounted crane truck, or a so-called Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV), was used for this purpose.  <\/span><\/p><p>To minimise disruption to the heavily used rapid transit service, the work was carried out in two phases: During the first construction phase, all work was carried out at night; during the second, the summer holidays were used to implement a closure with as little disruption to travel as possible.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-33 elementor-top-column elementor-element
