Information
On behalf of VERBUND Hydro Power GmbH, EQOS Energie has updated the generator busduct of unit 2 at the Annabrücke power station, the most performant power plant on Austria’s river Drau. This project concerns the electrical connection between the synchronous three-phase generator and the main transformer, which simultaneously serves as synchronisation and connection point to the auxiliary systems of the power station. After Ybbs-Persenbeug, Passau-Ingling and Kaprun-Hauptstufe, this is the fourth hydroelectric power plant of the Verbund Group that was modernised by EQOS Energie accordingly.
Within the project, EQOS Energie was responsible for the entire generator busduct. Beside the busbar system running from the generator to the generator switchgear and on to the generator transformer, this also included the arc-proof, metal-clad generator switchgear with vacuum generator circuit breaker and outgoing feeders for the excitation and auxiliary transformer. In addition to engineering, manufacturing, factory test and transportation of all supply parts to the installation site, EQOS Energie also performed the complete turnkey assembly and commissioning of the system.
In order to impact the power generation as little as possible, the components had to be at the construction site on time for the start of installation at the beginning of February 2017. Since only a few weeks were available for installation and commissioning, this project required exact planning and professional management. In the spring 2017, the renovation of the generator busduct of the Annabrücke power plant was concluded on time before the water supply of the river Drau increased.
