Information
EQOS Energie has taken on the electrical installation for customer Avacon Netz GmbH as part of the new construction of the 110kv Fümmelse substation. The new substation is an important step in strengthening the grid in the Salzgitter region.
EQOS Energie contributed to this major project by installing high-voltage devices in the newly constructed switchgear and by assembling a double tubular busbar with a longitudinal division. The control panel arrangement for the busbar is single-row and the bus sectionalisation is ten metres. Six line bays and a coupling were newly constructed and the lightning protection and lighting systems were installed. EQOS Energie equipped the cable ducts installed on site with cable racks in a two-layer design.
Furthermore, the contract included the construction of the secondary and bay control systems in the operations building and two control cells, as well as the complete cabling of the indoor and outdoor facilities.
What was special about this project was the completely new construction of the substation and thus the close coordination with all trades involved. Another special feature was the construction in an open area with the associated requirements for development and property protection.
Avacon‘s new substation meets the increased demand for energy distribution due to the construction of several new power lines in the region. It also enables the growing supply of climate-neutrally generated electricity to the region‘s grid, which will increase due to the future expansion of renewable energies. This will also ensure the security of supply for the growing Salzgitter economic area in the future.
