Information
EQOS Energie was commissioned by ÖBB-Infrastruktur AG to carry out the construction of new catenary lines on the “Pottendorf Line”. Specifically, the section between Münchendorf and Wampersdorf was involved. Part of the work involved the new design of the single-track section and installation of the catenary line equipment on the new double-track section. The contract also included the installation of new catenary lines at the newly built Ebreichsdorf station. Naturally, EQOS Energie also performed the entire dismantling work required as a result of the project.
Over a period of just under three years, around 350 masts were erected along a stretch of approximately 10 kilometres using a truck-mounted crane and low-loaders. EQOS Energie performed the pre-assembly work on the masts both on the line itself and at the Ebreichsdorf station. A total of approx. 27 kilometres of catenary line and around 45 kilometres
of reinforcement lines and return conductors were installed as part of the project.
The line section in question is one of the most important sections for the expansion of European rail infrastructure. The construction work enabled the already heavily used route to be upgraded to double track and equipped with a high-performance connection.
